Rose vs. Gooz?!!

Rose vs. Gooz?!!

You know that the Farsi word for “fart” is “gooz”.

Last night we went to Rose Restaurant for dining out. Vahid ordered their special, which is his favourite “Rose Pizza”. You took your nose and said “that is not good. phew, phew, phew.” Your dad and my mom didn’t get you. Your dad said, “Not nose, Rose”. And you said again “I know. but it is not nice”. Knowing what the source of your confusion was, and noticing that the Iranian waitress was still around , I said, of course it is nice, it is “Rose”. Rose is a kind of flower. But you corrected me “No, it is not nice. It is like Poopoo”!!!!

Well, my little girl has never heard about Rose, but of course she has heard about “gooz”!!

Your first sign of understanding the concept of weekdays

Your first sign of understanding the concept of weekdays

For several months now, you understand that parents are home for the weekend, and kids can stay with them instead of going to daycare.

Last night for the first time you mentioned that today is Saturday. Your dad had told you that it was Saturday, and you seem to have grasped the idea.

I told you that tomorrow would be Sunday. So, I guess you are taking your first steps to understand the concept of the days and weekdays and their names.

You, very adorable little girl.

Our conversation in Farsi

Our conversation in Farsi

I am not sure if you can read farsi. But anyways, it wouldn’t make sense if I write it in English:

You do not like instructions, my stubborn little angel

You do not like instructions, my stubborn little angel

I registered you in the gym. You are GREAT in all those physical activities. But you hate it!!! You even have fun for several minutes, but for some reason you do not like it. I stopped taking you there.

I cannot decide whether it is because  you do not like to listen to your instructor (to make a circle with other children, or line up for ladder or….), or is it because you are not comfortable when other kids are there running around.

In the swimming pool, we have a similar story. You LOVE water and the swimming pool. But you just want to sit in the shallow section and play with toys as you wish. You do not like to listen to your instructor.

It seems that you are not comfortable with specific places. I think you do not feel safe, and get uncomfortable. But who knows. You might have other reasons.
