First time to wear your pants, and more

First time to wear your pants, and more

I haven’t updated this page for a long time now, but it is better late than never.

So, here it goes:

Tonight, just moments ago, for the first time you put on your pajamas all by yourself. Your dad showed you how the label on your pants should be on the back, and you did the rest.

Also, tonight for the first time, you took a bath by yourself, and of course with some help from me. But you sat in the bath tub and played all by yourself.

Your top favorite TV shows and movies

Your top favorite TV shows and movies

You hate princesses!! I can’t understand why;I guess it is because of the ‘bad person’ in those shows. You never watch Sophia, and hate princess stories and books!

Your top favorite TV shows are Paw Patrol, Octonauts, Blaze and the monster machines, and Team Umizoomi.

Recently you have found another show that you love: Annedroid.

It is a TV series (on Amazon), about a ‘big girl” of almost 10 years old, building droids and robots in a junk yard! Yesterday, we decided to take you to Children’s discovery museum for the first time. As opposed to your interest in wearing pretty dresses you specifically asked me to put your coat on you, without changing your pajamas! You said that you wanted to go to the museum in your pajamas!! it just occurred to me that perhaps you want to look like the dorky girl, Anne. I asked you, and yes, that was why you wanted to leave home in your pajamas. I put a ‘cool’ shirt and jeans on you, and you were happy with your outfit.

You are absolutely amazing and we adore you. You are gorgeous and very clever. We are really proud of you.

Your sense of fashion

Your sense of fashion

You looked into Costco magazine, and stopped at jewelry page, and mentioned that “this is so beautiful”, then hugged it!!!

I was going to take you to daycare, so, I put you in your carseat. But you started crying, and said that you didn’t like your clothes. I had to bring you back inside, put another shirt and change your clothes from pants to skirts, then take you to your daycare!!!

You have your own preference for clothes, and you love to wear skirts!

Putty Training

Putty Training

We started putty training you almost ten days ago.

You love sitting on your putty, put a towel on your legs to keep them warm (!!) and listen to me or dad reading books to you!

You usually come for the putty right after you pee! But your timing has been good with you poopoo!!!

You looked at it and said, one big poopoo, this one is the bigger one,and that one is the biggest!!!!

You,adorable thing.

Rose vs. Gooz?!!

Rose vs. Gooz?!!

You know that the Farsi word for “fart” is “gooz”.

Last night we went to Rose Restaurant for dining out. Vahid ordered their special, which is his favourite “Rose Pizza”. You took your nose and said “that is not good. phew, phew, phew.” Your dad and my mom didn’t get you. Your dad said, “Not nose, Rose”. And you said again “I know. but it is not nice”. Knowing what the source of your confusion was, and noticing that the Iranian waitress was still around , I said, of course it is nice, it is “Rose”. Rose is a kind of flower. But you corrected me “No, it is not nice. It is like Poopoo”!!!!

Well, my little girl has never heard about Rose, but of course she has heard about “gooz”!!

Your first sign of understanding the concept of weekdays

Your first sign of understanding the concept of weekdays

For several months now, you understand that parents are home for the weekend, and kids can stay with them instead of going to daycare.

Last night for the first time you mentioned that today is Saturday. Your dad had told you that it was Saturday, and you seem to have grasped the idea.

I told you that tomorrow would be Sunday. So, I guess you are taking your first steps to understand the concept of the days and weekdays and their names.

You, very adorable little girl.

Our conversation in Farsi

Our conversation in Farsi

I am not sure if you can read farsi. But anyways, it wouldn’t make sense if I write it in English:

You do not like instructions, my stubborn little angel

You do not like instructions, my stubborn little angel

I registered you in the gym. You are GREAT in all those physical activities. But you hate it!!! You even have fun for several minutes, but for some reason you do not like it. I stopped taking you there.

I cannot decide whether it is because  you do not like to listen to your instructor (to make a circle with other children, or line up for ladder or….), or is it because you are not comfortable when other kids are there running around.

In the swimming pool, we have a similar story. You LOVE water and the swimming pool. But you just want to sit in the shallow section and play with toys as you wish. You do not like to listen to your instructor.

It seems that you are not comfortable with specific places. I think you do not feel safe, and get uncomfortable. But who knows. You might have other reasons.

Your first swimming lesson

Your first swimming lesson

You had your first swimming lesson on August 6th, with a lady called Sahar. You loved her.

It was a pity, she was a substitute teacher and therefore you had your swimming lesson with a lovely girl called Victoria afterwards. But for some reason, you don’t get along with her. You scream our ears off if she just wants to come close to you.

For the last session, an Iranian male swimming instructor could manage you and stop your non-stop ear-piercing screaming for a good ten minutes. In the end however, he soaked you in the water entirely, and you were shocked for a good three four minutes!!! Now, I am not sure if I should register you with him, or if you will be apprehensive!!

You are sooooooooooo stubborn. I guess it is because of your age. Nonetheless, you are really adorable. Everybody around you just tries to serve you, and this applies to the little children in your daycare!!!
